Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Hi I installed R4, and everything seems ok. Except when I open task manger and click on cpu usage, i get a force close message evrytime, any ideas how to fi x this? Thanks
Guest dav_dako Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Theres a couple topics on this already. Solution appears to be just to get rid of task manager and use a different one off the market
Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 I have the same issue with R4. is it uninstallable?
Guest dav_dako Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Yep, ull need to download something like supermanager from the market place tho, that can take it off

Guest dav_dako Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 should be able to use super manager file explore then navigate to system>app and it should be in there. Not sure about wave secure - you might be able to, i dont have r4 so i cant check

Guest Afrodude Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 You can just delete the .apk file for the task manager. Its located at /system/app/taskmanager.apk
Guest idroid84 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Give Mini Task Manager a go, that's if you want to kill open apps :P It's perfect! I replaced this one with the stock one and it works brilliant.
Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) You can just delete the .apk file for the task manager. Its located at /system/app/taskmanager.apk I found the apk but when i try and delete it does nothing. Says its deleted then I go back and look and its still there. Tried 'Android Mate' as well, same thing. Says its deleted then go back a second later and its still there. Edited October 20, 2010 by Sere83
Guest Afrodude Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Just do it with adb: adb shell rm /system/app/taskmanager.apk
Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Just do it with adb: adb shell rm /system/app/taskmanager.apk Apologies for my noobishness, whats adb? Where do i get it? and how do I use it?
Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) Its apart of the android SDK. I tried to download the SDK and follow this noob guide on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719 Try to install setupsdk.exe and just get an error message, then it says go to settings, what settings? Where? This is a bit of a pain in my ass tbh, why did the R4 just decide to ruin my task manager? Edited October 20, 2010 by Sere83
Guest Afrodude Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) Just download Quick System Info and forget that the task manager exists if you cannot manage to delete the file. adb is included in the .zip file anywho :P . It doesn't need installing Another thing you could do is to re-flash and before you do manually delete the taskmanager.apk file. Edited October 20, 2010 by Afrodude
Guest Sere83 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) man this is a joke, I installed adb got it working, tried to delete the file and it says 'cannot remove, 'read only file system' WTF? UPDATE: Downloaded SU File Manager & Terminal, enabled read/write on system drive and POW! were in business, task manager and wavesecure deleted. Edited October 20, 2010 by Sere83
