Guest jutley Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) Note this guide is if you want to fully debrand your orange phone or are having trouble with fastboot.I would do a factory reset before you do this guide and i have provided a tools.zip file at the bottom of this guide it has all the tools you need for the job enjo :P.:D Step 1 Download androot here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598 Step 2 Root your phone with it copy it to sd card and install it with a file manager get one from market free or i recomend root explorer its the best once it is installed run it see pic below. Step 3 Download better terminal cant provide a link for that but i am sure it wont be to hard to find on the market store and then install it. Step 4 download the custom recovery image here http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.p...co-r2-blade.img Step 5 copy the recovery image to the root of your sd card i presume you all know what root is Step 6 Start up better terminal and type su to get root permishions. step 7 Then on the next line type this to push and install the recovery image. from the start type like this $su # flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.9-modaco-r2-blade.img Don't forget the space between recovery /sdcard once you have typed the line hit enter it will only take a few seconds you can now exit terminal by typing exit or just close it See pic below how to type it. step 8 Once done exit better terminal and reboot phone whilst holding the down volume button and the power button it boots into custom recovery. Note keep the buttons held down untill you see the recovery menu don't let go of buttons or you will just get green boot logo loop if you messed up restart the procedure. Navigation in the recovery image as follows: •Volume Up / Down to move between options •Home key to select an option •Back key to go back step 9 download the Debranded rom here http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-san-francisco/ rename the file you just downloaded •r5_update_de-orangeated_blade_signed.zip - MD5 : b22584f515db0b4499a7eb1497fa3a2c to update.zip then copy the update.zip rom to root on sd card enter custom recovery in step 8 above and choose option to update from sd card and chose the update.zip you copied to root. Step 10 once installed let it reboot and it should be all done if you get stuck on the green man logo for over 5mins do a battrey pull and reboot the phone.. Below are snapshots the first one shows the recovery image on the root of sd card and the update debranded rom aswell and the second pic shows how you should type the commands in terminal from better terminal. Also i have inc 2 pics of the debranded rom 3rd and 4th pics show all the orange stuff removed and the last pic is androot click to root hope this helps goodluck and problems just pm me.Tools.rar Edited November 8, 2010 by jutley

Battery out, switched on again, no clockwork image. Checked Astro file manager and the clockworkmod file is there. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong. Cheers :P

Hi Jutley, :P Yup you guessed it I finally got Clockwork recovery up and running. It was those excellent pics and instructions you posted especially the bit about the Terminal, but most of all the bit where you must hold down the vol and power buttons till you see the clockwork image, it hiccuped a couple of times but I finally got the image running, upside down but no big deal. Thank you for all your help and time spent in helping a SUPER noob like me. :D
