Hello all!

I have bought the ZTE Blade and have managed to debrand/root it (r3) and am using my 3 SIM - all is working well and I am slowly getting used to my new phone.

However, I do have a problem getting the phone to get onto Planet 3. I have set the APN correctly and the internet is working, however, when trying to get onto the 3 mobile site (mobile.three.co.uk/hb/hutchkey) I get a message asking me if I am trying to connect over WiFi. I have 3G signal and WiFi is turned off and i have cleared the internet cashe.

I keep reading that three branded phones comes with a certificate that enables them to get onto Planet3 - is there any way around this? I would like to be able to download Skype and MSN messenger and use them for free over the three network, but unless I get into Planet 3 I am stuck with using them on my data allowance...

If nothing else, is there anywhere these applications can be downloaded anyway? I found Skype on 3 have been removed from the Android apps when searching...

Any help is grately appreciated.

I'm running on 3 and didn't need any certificate, or any other stuff to get on to Planet 3. You do have to be on 3G, as over wi-fi it won't let you in, understandable as it uses your connection to take you straight in without any form of log in, makes it easier. Presume you're going to http://ghp.three.co.uk/portal/simtodayuk/today ?

If you searched these zte blade forums for 'skype' you would of found your answer in the 'Skype app only using speakerphone' thread :P

Download skype on 3 from xda-developers HERE - You have to register though :D

Unfortunately the various "Skype on 3" versions from this thread as well as from the xda-developers forum and the "AsPhone" app are not working on my SF.

The "Skype on 3" apps return: "Sorry, unable to sign you in. Please try again later." When I typed in my username and psw and pressed "Sign in" (the app is running).

Internet works perfectly fine with the three APN.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

fyi: My SF is only unlocked, not rooted. When I go on http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/singleurl Planet 3 assumes that I'm logged in via wifi and blocks me, even when I'm definitely conncted via 3G.

Funny you just posted your message B) I have been looking for a solution to the same problem. I installed Android on my Nokia N900, which is based on Froyo, to use Skype as there's no 3 support for N900. Every time I go to My3 using 3G not WiFi it reports that I am trying to access my account from outside 3 network. If I do the same on my N900 it goes to my account without any problems even though 3 doesn't sell N900 on their network.

If I try to log in to my Skype account using 3 Skype software it just says it can't log me in and to try again later - I assume that's because it thinks I am not on 3 network.

Has anyone had any luck finding the right settings for that? Is that even possible? Thanks a lot!

I downloaded the 2.1 version of 3 skype on page 3 of the xda thread and I've only used it once but it worked fine for me. I just keep a 3 sim behind my back cover in case I want to use it again.

I'm on an unlocked but otherwise standard SF.

Yes it is 0.10.0.4

I#m using exactly the same version and get the error as described above. probably it's the APN setting, are you simply using

name: 3internet

username: not set

password: not set

?

To get the link working to go on three via my three sim

i had register my sim on line at https://my3.three.co.uk/mysecurity/register.do

then i had to set the phone to 3g / no wifi signal.

cleared the cache in my browser

then i went to :- http://ghp.three.co.uk/portal/simtodayuk/today ?

and it took me to planet three no problems . My3 / my account worked with no need to type in a password etc as it recognized my simcard and phone number.

when i registered my number it allows you to pick a phone , of course the zte blade was not on the list , but another zte android phone the racer was listed , so ticked that as my phone.....in the hope it allowing me to download msn / skype etc , but the website stated no skype or msn for this product available.....

but i did download the skype and msn utils from xda forum and both worked a treat i'm running 2.2

3internet.co.uk is the mobile broadband APN I use three.co.uk and leave everything else blank.
