Hi guys,

Sorry for my, maybe, dumb questions (and sorry for my poor english level).

I just root my mobile phone (htc desire) with unrevoked 3.0. I flash to Modaco r8.

Ok perfect.

So now, i read that A2SD was directly included... ok so where can i found it?

Next questions, i read that you need to do some "special" things on your sd cards like partitioning... so my question is: was it done automatically by the modacoRom during the flashing? Do i need to do something "more"?

Thanks by advance!

Hey m8:)

Okay I haven´t done this myself yet (waiting for a bigger SD card next month when I can afford it) but here´s what I´ve picked up, I´ve been reading a bit bout it myself.

MCR comes in two ways, full roms, in which I guess it´s included, and cooked roms. If you cook it, you have to select between either APPS2SD or APPS2SD+ it´s something to do with necessary installations, with Apps2SD Dalvick cache is on internal memory with Apps2SD+ it´s moved to the SD, what Dalvick is I´m not entirely sure.

And according to all I´ve learned about it, you have to have 2 partitions on your SD card. One for content like music and pictures and one partition to install apps on. Though when Apps2SD is installed it just looks like increased internal space as far as I´ve understood when in fact it´s on the SD card.

So my guess is you let your card continue on whatever file system it´s has, and then shrink the partition with Linux for instance or a partition tool on Windows, and with what unpartitioned/amount of space you want to use for apps.

You format that space with Ext3 file system, it´s the Linux file system and in some form or another I think Android share features a bit with Linux. Easiest thing I guess, would be to boot up Ubuntu Live disk and partition your SD card directly via that, I think one tool for instance is called GParted, should be on a live disk.

Otherwise find a partition program that will let you partition with Ext3.

But as said I haven´t done it yet, but I think that´s the procedure.

Kind Regards
