Guest Shadowfactor Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 US At&T Streak.. I went from running Beta V2 of the 2.2 HYDE ROM. Downloaded the new V1 Release Rom, put it on my SD card, renamed it ( followed the Directions) loaded clockwork... Did a system wipe then did the install Update.Zip from SD card..... It did the update process, says complete.. rebooted via clockwork. Now the device won't load past the Dell logo, it has the plain white dell Logo and it did the fancy dell logo design splash and went back to the White Dell logo screen. I've been sitting on the Dell Logo screen now for about 15 minutes and nothing has changed. I tried wiping the system data again and reapplied the update but nothing, stuck at the same screen.. Any Suggestions ?>?? Thanks!
Guest jnovello Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) Wipe everything again and apply the zip. Let it reboot.Factory reset in clockwork then let it boot. If it doesn't come up pull the battery and let it boot. If it still doesn't boot factory reset again. Edited October 21, 2010 by jnovello
Guest Shadowfactor Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Tried all of that. Wiped System Data, Wiped Cache then applied update again... Let it boot for 13 minutes after doing that. Pulled Battery, Wiped System Data , then rebooted thru clockwork, tried letting it boot for around 10-12 min.... Maybe I just got a bad download of something ? Should I download the release again and try it ?? If that doesn't work can I just download a beta release of 2.2 and install it thru clockwork ?? or do I have to downgrade anything ?
Guest Shadowfactor Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 idk if it's worth noting. But when I go to wipe system data in clockwork. It Formats it but says NO APP2SD Partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext. Then it formats the android secure folder and says complete...
Guest jnovello Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 On all the versions Steve said you must be on a 2.1 build. When I went to V1 I went back to 2.1 8105. I found the battery life was very bad for me so I wanted to go back to V.3, but for some reason when I flashed recovery it would not go. I just got a black screen. The only thing I could do was put back clockwork and try to load V.3 and it worked. I'd try trying to go back to 2.1 8105 and then to the Froyo you want. If it doesn't go well do what I did.
Guest xfachx Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) Hey all, I am having the same exact problem. Reboots, Dell Logo, Dell splash screen, and then back to Dell logo. I reflashed, wiped data, wiped cache, reinstalled. Also, I am coming from 2.1 8105. So not sure what is going on but I hope someone has some idea. Any help on this would be great! Thanks! EDIT: So I got it to work by clearing the Davlik cache, wiping data, wiping sdcard and then rebooting through clockwork. The main difference was that I left the USB cable connected to the Streak and my computer. Windows 7 recognized it as NULL device. Not sure what happened with that. But so far so good. Good luck Shadowfactor. Edited October 22, 2010 by xfachx
Guest wyxwyx Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 The factory reset is the key (from the recovery) ...happened to me earlier.
Guest nanostreak Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) I had the same issue but a simple factory reset fixed it. I had to be patient as it took about 7 minutes to move to the froyo logon. my sequence: 1.6 US to 1.6 UK to 2.1 UK. Stuck with dell logo. Replaced with original 2.1 o2 per thread in Monaco with that title. Then 2.2 Steve, stuck, factory reset, boom. I used ubuntu Maverick 64 bit for that. Edited October 22, 2010 by nanostreak
