Overclocking the Streak?

Hi all

Is something like this possible for the Streak?

We just need somebody to recompile it for the Streak! (not to 1.42Ghz but still the QSD8250 is capable of atleast 1.2GHz)

Yes, it didn't seem to work.

I think we need a mod'd kernel to overclock.

not at min no since the 32 kernel i used for froyo is hacked to bits as it is (and i dont have the souirces for it since i had a couple of much better kernel devs build it :P

Ahaaaa I see!

And couldn't it be possible to do it the same way they did it with the G2? the thread says that it should work with any Snapdragon device! It just need to be recompiled for it! There is no need even for Root with this module to my knoledge!

I am using the latest 2.03 version from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419

I only use it to under-clock though as battery life is important to me :P

Aha. And how does it work for underclock? Froyo? Any change in battery time?

So far so good (yes am using Froyo)..

The Streak was fully charged yesterday at 2pm (1 day 3 h since unplugged) and is now at 83%. I have only played games for 30 mins and 30 mins of browsing though... the rest of the time it is in airplane mode.

What do you set in SetCPU? Which version?

Profiles my friend. Set the streak to underclock when the screen is off or just selected a lower frequency from the first screen and set to boot, after you've tested it of course.

What would one need to do in order to convince some talented Dev to take on this project i.e. to mod the kernel to enable o/c....

Although it wouldn't be such a bad idea for interested parties to pool 'donations' towards specific tasks/project, though i'm not sure it would amount to a couple of thousands :)
