Possible fix for SLOW SD card speeds in Sense ROMs??

Dunno if anyone has tried this yet, but over on XDA someone seems to have made progress on improving SD card speeds:

I am running r9 with Sub501's gov's, can anyone confirm if applying the SD fix will wipe Sub501 govs?
