Guest ringer Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Have been experiencing memory problems for a while. Been gradually flashing FLBmod versions up to current 1.7oc and trying Vanilla theme and more recently Espresso. All this using standard SD card that came with the phone, so was not using apps2sd. I quite like the default default background picture (lake with mountains behind) and just assumed it was no longer part of my pulse with the constant upgrades. Then suddenly one day it reappeared. Then few days later it disappeared again, which made me think it was a memory problem. So I checked running applications and services, and deleted what I thought might not be necessary, and the background pic reappeared so I was happy. Then one day later it disappeared again and I could not get it back. Decided to invest in an upgrade to my SD card and purchased Samsung 8Gb class 6 card and activated apps2sd. Now, if anything, performance is worse with lagging and no background pic and more frequent '[application] is not responding' messages. Have tried rebooting, several times. Any ideas on how to improve this? SD card was partitioned using ROM Manager (Clockwork) Ext size 512MB (ext3) and swap 64MB Using SD Card Speed Tester the card is reported as class 6 mostly, occasionally class 4 (apps2sd affecting performance maybe?) Settings/Applications/Running Services reports Avail: 13MB+0.00B in 12 Other: 15MB in 3 (don't know how to get screen shots onto my PC, have never been able to get Android SDK to properly connect with the Pulse for debugging, though can upload programs!) Guest JohnPorter Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Try changing the EXT3 to EXT2 and try again.
