Guest Cue_32 Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 PC World Its about time! I'd prefer they said 'couple of days' or even 'next week or 2 weeks'. "in weeks" for Dell couple mean December 31 (9 weeks). I wouldn't be surprised if most of us stuck with Stephen's Froyo ROM anyway. Stock Android over any UI anyday.

An official Dell release would potentially give him and other devs more Android 2.2 source files to work with. So, yeah, it's still a good thing.

Guest TechnoAce Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 "We wanted to get the product to market, we weren't ready for 2.2, so we went ahead," Felice said. "Maybe we should have waited. But we're getting caught up now." Let's hope they really start to push it now. It would be nice to see some advertising or a bit more exposure.
Guest yosemite-sam Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Too little too late. i dont buy that view. we need them to release their version so when they (in their own time) release the source, it can then be fixed lol

I doubt that, so wishful thinking.
Guest spiderboyy Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I think this is going to coincide with Dell launching the Streak in Best Buy stores in the US. No ones going to take a second look at the Streak on 1.6 vs a Galaxy Tab on 2.2, so this is advantageous for them
Guest ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I must say this new "Stage" UI sounds highly interesting. I'm anxious to see if it looks good...
Guest vinokirk Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I will also be trying the new official ROM, to see how many bugs its got lol. But seriously, as soon as Steve+ otehr devs get their teeths into it, it will be made in to the O/S it shouldve been!

People need to stop being so butt hurt about a device they bought which SHIPPED with 1.6 No one at Dell tricked you.
