I keep deleting messages and contacts

I have 1 MB of data memory free - I keep deleting stuff, but the free memory doesn't increase.

How can I increase my data memory?

and a more general question, why do the phones have so few memory?

Default applications store everything in phone memory.

IE, application data, temp folder...

The best is to use tool like freeRam or advance tool config...
