Swype replacement keyboard

hey guys can anyone help me and explain how to get this keyboard onto my san fran. i tried it on my girlfriends Samsung Galaxy S and it was really nice. Can't seem to find it easily online or on the marketplace.

If you`ve got ADB running, then :-

adb install Swype_1.60.36.8214.apk

You then apply it from the Settings > Keyboard menu. Seems to work well in 2.2

yeah downloading it and then getting it onto the phone using Dropbox and the stock filer application worked a treat. very nice addition, thanks guys for the help.

i had the same problem with 2.1

Best to get a later version if you can...

Using 2.4.44.10912 on my phone... Works great :P

Does this work properly on the SF? The backup I made from my Pulse phone doesn't work properly with the SF...half of the keyboard is cut off :P

I'm using shapewriter on my San Fran and it works absolutely fine. I downloaded it from the marketplace but when I last looked it had gone, so just hope I don't need to reinstall it! I'm waiting for it on apple as well!

ShapeWriter was taken off market in June so not sure how you found it on Market!

Tried installing the apk for swype from my sd card and its installing fine. Then it says this was configured for a different device and may not function correctly. It works when i tap words out but not when I swype... :rolleyes:

All you need to do is delete the installer and the application, then log in to beta.swype.com and redownload the installer. Should work fine then.

I have a hate-love relationship with Swype. It sometimes works flawlessly but at times it works just horrible. Now trying out Shapewriter.

I think the problem is my phones listed as a dell streak(my other phone) on the beta site..

hold down yiour finger on an input space. for example where you type a search or text message, then choose input method and choose swype

Do as Ally Weir says but first tick the box in..... Settings > Language and Keyboards
