I've been getting a very similar thing. I re-flashed the phone.

It seems intermitent. Some apps download and others say download unsuccesful

Thanks for the heads-up. I have getting very frustrated all day trying to deal with this assuming it was me or my Streak.

Now that i know it is external I can relax and try again tomorrow.

i hve been trying to get mine to work as well as day and failing when trying to install 2.2.

I am back on 6491 now but can't install anything.

Infact i am a bit miffed as universal andoot installs but wont root (even after 4-5 attempts) i cant get market apps to install and i cant get apks to install from my own server or being copied to the sd.

I had 2.1 running fine before the weekend and now nothing works.

I am thinking of taking the streak back to get it replaced and saying the ota upgrade screwed up or something.

Just checked on the mrs's mini pro and it is doing the same on there so does look like a problem with googles app store

weirdly though, i have some apks on my sd that had prreviously instlled fine and now they just give me ;installation failed' messages.

Somehow they are not installing on my clean 6941 2.1 install?

I am all sad now as this doesn't work at all for me and the odd thing i have managed to install (bettery indicator pro) jus crashes when i try to run it.

my 6491 seems screwed now and i can't downgrade to 1.6 to try everything again as it fails at flashing stage.

I might take it back and blame the ota upgrade. That was 6941 right?

Is there anyway of trying the ota 2.1 files to see if that is any better

Also i can't remove my google account to try your method as it won't let me.

*crys*

Ok so i went to recovery boot menu and did a factory restore,

This wiped my google account details, I then re-setup my account in the market and downloaded the battery app.

It still doesn't work and i get a download unsuccessful message.

Might give up and take her back to o2

yeah i ended up blaming the phone - reflashing - applying each (that i have apk for) slowly

should've checked online & saved myself the entirity of the afternoon!!

pre-reflash / post reflash & on wifi / on 3g all made no difference for me...

i just kept trying, getting error msg, cancelling download, trying again & again

most apps took 3 or 4 goes, a couple only 2 goes, some took like 10 attempts...

as a general rule when i got the error msg 'download paused' then waiting (waiting, waiting) it usually installed in the end :P

Cheers

Yep mine been playing up all afternoon in UK (just as I flashed back to 2.2 so thought it was the rom! Doh!)

\Really annoying as just want to finish setting everything up again.

Wonder what's up? Wasn't there a video of Gingerbread that showed OTA app installation....finger crossed - maybe they mucked up a market server while testing!

That sounds interesting. Thanks the info, it gives me sound reason to wait this one out a bit longer.

Certainly I am in no mood to be chasing my tail with uninstalling, reinstalling and all the rest of it.
