Guest jujo05 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 ...hmm tried that, but no joy for me here :P Hi, I installed on my boston update.zip through this update, the problem is that the screen goes upside down or see the screen that you have to turn the phone, besides it does not touch screen, you can guide me the steps I have to give?
Guest Teh H4rRy Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 I can only assume English is not your first language... So from what I gather you have an Orange Boston Android device. You have ClockworkMod to use update.zip files? The screen is upside down and the touch screen doesn't work. What ROM did you use when you updated? And this isn't the forum to post in, this is for the ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco)

The reason for that is that the Orange Boston is not the ZTE Blade. The ZTE Blade is the Orange San Francisco, so the ROM you tried to flash won't work on your device at all. Your best bet will be to just restore the nandroid backup you hopefully(!) made before flashing the SanFran's ROM. Best regards, BB

Guest DaveyP Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Close .. looses a little, but I suppose it all depends upon the most common method of construction used locally. I hope you can get out of the situation by re flashing something.
Guest oh!dougal Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 piedra en el muro. You never know, you might be able to return it as "faulty". Though it might be better to put even the standard ("Stock") San Francisco rom into it before offering it back to the supplier (at least it has the familiar Orange clock on the homescreen ... (even if it is the wrong way up ...) And if you fancy digging a little deeper (because the SF has its csreen upside down, there has been some discussion of how to achieve that - you could try UNdoing it! (Though I have no idea how simmilar/dissimilar the SF and Boston might be. But it seems to have booted with the SF rom ... Regarding screen rotation, take a look at http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1451157 (and subsequently) for discussion example ... But its likely some of the rom developers here might be interested to learn what makes the Boston tick - particularly since it is not currently offered in the UK. So, if you can find a friend with a standard Boston, you'd quite probably get some help round here in making a restorable rom image (for you) from that other phone ...

If I remember rightly, the Boston is the phone that was 1 euro, I seem to recall a big hoo-harr at BMWC about it, I think it's made by FoxConn it it runs 1.6 android. Im surprised you got the rom to even run as far as you did on that hardware, but yeah your going to need to get someone to make you a restore image.

I think there are a range of Orange phones named after Cities, San Francisco, Boston, Toyko, Berlin.... I've heard that iPad wannabe will called after a city too.... Im hoping they go for 'Accrington Stanley' for that one
Guest DaveyP Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 The new Orange 'Wigan Pier' will make quite a splash on release. It's rumoured that it will get genuine sms delivery reports (but don't hold your breath) ... its a conspiracy not a bug :P
