The BIG selling point of FROYO as far as i can tell has been the implementation of Flash 10.1 which may i say works very nicely on Stephens Dell Streak rom.

What is likely to be the big seeling point of Gingerbread Android 3.0? will it have some added functions or will it just be a more spiffy UI?

Not holding my breath for any stand-out features, though hopefully they will have Blindtype up and running for it. From what I understand the release to really look forward to is Honeycomb, that is where we will see more tablet functionality.

Though now I think about it I do hope to see better multitouch functionality, such as more context-sensitive gestures and multitouch dragging (as opposed to the current zoom-mode implementation).

Native video calling is likely to be the main selling point

Further enhancement and stability for stagefright, some ui tweaks..

Blindtype would be nice

Froyo was more about speed, flash was going to run on2.1 but the jit made it easier to implement from what I've read.

video calls is the point. though Samsung supplies that on Galaxy S with even 2.1 (Eclair)

the question is: shall we (Streak owners) have Gingerbread ever ?

i think its looking like gingerbread is going to be just 2.3 which will just spike up 2.2 a bit with added performance and video calling it seems and with a few fancy graphics sprinkled on top

i agree with gilrad honeycomb seems to be the one to look out for

Yes, it's been more confirmed Gingerbread is 2.3 than it has that it's 3.0 (in fact, the 3.0 thing is pure speculation).

I would assume notifications, push, and multitasking are going to be tightened up more as per a retort to WebOS 2
