Ad-hoc / froyo 2.2

I have a rather dumb question and I have read the previous topic so please be easy and I expect a dumb answer, if you know what I mean.

I want my streak to use Ad-Hoc internet. Streak finds my hotspot, it connects, says connected, but it is not using the internet. I saw a topic somewhere earlier, could not really work it out so could anyone tell me if using ad hoc internet is possible and then if yes, how you actually do that, and if not, has it something to do that I`m on Froyo?

you have to define static IP address onyour Dell Streak wifi settings if you connect toan ad-hoc device.
