r9 ROM from 22/Oct

The latest r9 ROM from 22/Oct is totally broken. Android Market is total screwed up with that ROM.

First it started to randomly crash the Vending App (Android Market) followed up by download and update problems. 9 of 10 attempts to download or update an App will result in failed Downloads. It starts loading, one can see the download icon in the top bar and after ~20-30 seconds, it disapears. Same for download. If you look at the app again in the Market, you can still see it scheduled for download, but nothing happens. Only thing you can do is cancel and retry. After an average of 10 tries it works. Then sames happens on the next app.

Any ideas?

i'm getting the same, but this has only been doing it since yesterday.

i don't think the latest version of R9 is just to blame...

Same here, yesterday it was imposible to download anything. Today morning everything was ok.

Don't blame it on the rom. Look into the market forums and you will see, that it is a general problem over all devices.

Had the same problem with pre-22/10 R9, as well. Didn't know it was a market wide problem. Somehow, running Marketspeedup.sh script solved the problem for me.

Well, I never had the problem before and since I flashed it 2 days ago, it seemd quite logical that it's an ROM cause, because immediately after the flashing I was restoring some files from Titanium Backup (which have a market link set). And every time Vending crashed, but only on Apps which were installed via Market (guess it happend while restoring the Market Link). Same happed on uninstalling too.

Nowt to do with the rom m8. Its crashing on all roms stock as well

This worked for me:

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All ->

Market -> Stop and clear data

Download manager -> stop and clear data.

Boom! Working!

Already did that a dozen of times, as I had similar issues in the past (where mainly downloaded apps were missing in "Downloads" section).

Will see if it gets better in the next few days.

I can assure you it's not the ROM mate, I'm using AuraxTSense v7.9 and a friend of mine is using the T-Mobile Branded Desire, and we're both having no luck downloading anything from the market place.

I have also cleared cache and data, and that doesn't work either. Just waiting on a fix, perhaps they're sending out an update for the market? I dunno, just my two pence.

I haven't upgraded to the latest R9 and have been experiencing these problems with the market. Seems to be sorted now though.

This is a Google issue, nothing to do with the ROM.

I have also been having problems downloading from Android Market. It seems to work ok during the day but then in the evening it won't download anything. Its nothing to do with the R9 rom, I have just text my mate who has a desire on same network as me but he has stock rom and his won't download either. It must be something to do with the ammount of people trying to download in the evening. I hope they can get it fixed soon.

No problem here with r9 22/10 (I just updated 3 apps this morning), and I never did a single wipe since the initial one for the root then r3 upgraded all versions up to this last one.
