Hardware upgrade?

Just a quick question

does anyone know if its possible or likely to physically possible to swap out the camera for a higher spec model?

As far as I'm aware most camera's are modules that "pop in" and the software controls them, so it might be possible to get a better camera working?

The main problem is the flash IMO, so unless you can "pop in" a flash as well, then I don't see it making much difference.

I agree the lack of a flash is a serious let down, but if the camera was a higher spec one, it would be great for daytime or outside shots

I dont actually use the camera much but it is nice having a decent one on the phone in case its needed, such as a traffic accident for taking pictures (thankfully not needed it yet) and if someone goes out for the day it saves carrying loads of equipment,

I was just wondering if it was actually possible and would anyone else be interested if it could be done.

Also, wouldn't a new camera require new drivers for that camera?! Or do all cameras use the same drivers?! Doubt it...

It would be a nice idea, but I can see you'd spend so much trying to do it it would be cheaper to go out and buy a Desire !

Coming from a Nokia N86 (with an 8 meg camera with flash), that is the one thing I miss.

Maybe the next Android phone from Orange will have a better one ?

Putting in a high end camera into this device would probably double the cost.

The reason this phone is awesome is the power it has for the price.

They had to "scrimp" in some areas, but I find the camera fine for odd shots.
