Guest fabulous2 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Hello, this might be a dumb question, but I can't seem to find an answer in this forum as of yet. I would like to buy a Blade from a friend in London and have her ship it to me, but I fear that being a technophobic college girl she won't be able to handle the unlocking. That's why I'm asking if unlocking is possible irrelevant to service to Orange UK. I'm not sure if the process of unlocking the phone is merely local or if it contacts the service provider. Thank you for a quick reply. Edited October 26, 2010 by fabulous2

Oh, and in case you want to start another topic once you receive the phone, you have to hold down the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on. And yeah, it doesn't matter where you are located when entering the unlocking code. Edited October 26, 2010 by blauwal26

I apologize if I busted your mood, but in all honesty, that's the truth. In the instructional threads and video how to unlock is no mention of this particular problem. It may be that it's only me who was creating this problem in the first place. Anyway, thanks a lot for the quick reply.
Guest Acathla- Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 You actually HAVE to have a non-orange SIM in to unlock it...

I think some of the devs are looking to see why this happens and try and develop a software unlock.
