Can only connect when "Use Only 2g networks is selected.

My phone will only connect to any mobile network if " Use Only 2G networks" is selected. If I select GSM/WCDMA auto or WCDMA Only I get the message " Your Sim Card does not allow a connection to this network"

When " Use Only 2G networks is selected" the phone connects to the network and I get an Edge data connection, everything works OK but obviously would like to connect at 3G.

I have entered the APN's for the 3G network

My sim card connects fine at 3g when used in another phone

The problem has been consistemt both on the standard rom and the modaco custom r4 rom that is currently installed.

Any help is much appreciated.

I don't have an answer tippo..but that was yet another problem I had. I keep mine on 2g now or i get dropped calls and very poor signal strength.

I almost wish I wasn't with 02 simplicity as the handset is a dream on its native Orange. The guys here are great..hope you get a solution. x
