Guest dadashi Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Hi, I'm running on 2.1 R4 I'm getting this message even though according to Task Manager I have about 250MB free space. I haven't over installed too many apps... How can I get rid of this annoyance... Here is my Task Manager resources read out: CPU BAR: 11% Mem BAR: 39% System used memory: 162.36 M System free memory: 255.59 M System Total Memory: 414.93 M Edited October 26, 2010 by dadashi
Guest Acathla- Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 That's your RAM figures. Go to: Settings | SD Card, USB Mass Storage & phone storage See what you have under 'Available space' under Internal phone storage. If it's low you need to remove some apps (look in Manage Applications and sort by size to see the large ones) or utilise apps2sd (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7025105)
Guest dadashi Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 OK, Internal Phone Storage is only 23.41MB!!! I thought the SF had 512MB for Apps, 250 RAM, etc.... Can I increase the phone storage size? I've got very few apps installed...
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 nope it has about 210mb for internal mem (usually about 130mb is available to user) and 512mb ram, if you using froyo you can move larger apps to memory card
Guest dadashi Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 I freed up some apps, now I still have only 44MB :D Apparently my navigation apps are taking a total of about 40MB (Sygic, Co-pilot, Navigon) I need all three untill I decide which is best for me! I've been using Garmin-XT mobile on my N95 for 3 years... I've tried the alpha froyo but it's not for me untill there's a better release or beta...I can't keep up with the froyo thread and constant update tips, etc... I'm a plain newbie user, not a dev :P Using the 2.1 R4 and it's good enough for now...

GPartEd boot disc will let you create this.

Sebastians doesn't have the apps2sd installed. Can you point me to a dowmload link?
Guest Acathla- Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 I think SD Partition is broke in Clockwork SF - at least I heard it was. How I did it was boot gparted in a VM whilst my SD card was attached as a drive. Your partition MUST be ext2 for the SF. I used a 512MB partition just FYI. For link I posted one in my first reply - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7025105 Flash the zip then reboot. If you have a class 4 or above SD Card also consider moving your Dalvik Cache to SD using: a2sd cachesd
