Guest kuddin22 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Please help, I have managed to do something awful to my SF and I fear that I may have bricked it. The problem I'm having is that my phone wont boot up at all. When I try and power up with the volume up and power button pressed, all that happens is that the 'back' button stays lit red and screen stays black. Cant get the green android to show. I was trying to revert back to stock rom using the fastboot method and after waiting a considerable length of time (5mins) on the orange logo I disconnected and was left with the above problem coupled with a miserable mood. In addition I may have saved the wrong file on the sd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please, please help! Thanks in advance......
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 What happens when you boot holding volume down also have you tried leaving the battery out for a few minutes
Guest kuddin22 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Thanks for replying so quick Tried with battery out for a couple of mins and volume down button on restart. red light comes on briefly them goes out. Screen stays black. Does the phone need any files on the sd card or is there a 'bios' on the phone itself like in pc's.
Guest kuddin22 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Some more info for anyone who can help: Even though I dont get to see the green android, if I hold power and volume up button the red back light comes on and stays on and I think I am able to flash recovery and boot using fastboot as it says "OKAY" on both instances. However when I fastboot-windows reboot the phone just switches off and the red back button does not light up again. I've tried the above method with and without sd card. The card is recognised outside the phone in a card reader and XP Device manager shows Android Composite ADB Interface. Please, please can anyone help me as I am obviously a complete novice and am left feeling quite desperate/distressed.
Guest tronads Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 The good thing is, if no-one can assist you on this, you will feel comfortable returning the phone for a warranty repair, whereas if for example it was coming up with a modaco logo, then freezing, it might be a bit iffy returning it.
Guest kuddin22 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks for that advice. Thats my last resort. Anyone have any ideas on ways to fix it??
