Guest tonemgub1 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I have an HTC Desire running Open desire. It's really amazing, and I enjoy it very much. But there are a few things I wanted to "tweak" using apps from my original phone providers ROM. I'm trying to install an apps called: HtcCalculatorWidget HtcClockWidget HtcContacts HtcWeatherWallpaper Weather WeatherAgentService WeatherProvider WorldClock All were in the ROMs found in this thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...dates-and-mods/ So I basically just extracted all the apps I wanted from these ROM's, and put them on my phones SD card. When I try to install them, they reboot the phone to the Open Desire "Android" start up screen. It does this for all the applications on my list. My question is why? (I'm thinking they are protected somehow) and if so, how can I fix it so I can install them? I've been doing some research, and it looks like I can use a program called APKtools if I indeed need to edit. If t his is the case, where can I get started? Is there a tutorial on how to use APKtools to specifically edit some HTC apps to run on my custom ROM?
