Ok so il start by saying, I know its an Alpha build, ive installed Itching Thumbs task manager, which also acts as home launcher app in the style of WebOS , it works, the Launcher bar is in the right place, but screen previews are upside down :P Is this due to the Phone being built upside down ?

Yes, that happens with every app that accesses the touchscreen directly :P

Strange, previews work fine me. right way up and all. However so far i've only been able to start 'Itching Thumbs' from the menu and not with double-click short-cut.

I've set default action to 'Launcher'. Does anyone know how i can change it back to itching thumbs without reinstalling it?

Thanks

Hmm... could this also be source of the problem, that some people are experiencing, I mean the unresponsive screen problem? If there is some intermediate driver in between the apps and the touchscreen, maybe it is something that fails/locks up... I've noticed that several people are complaining about this problem after flashing the Froyo ROM... is there any chance for a fix?

FWIW, I tried the Itching Thumbs app on MCR4 (2.1) and it displayed the previews upside down, so it's not related to the FroYo rom.

Well, it says something about showing you "high quality" previews if your phone is rooted, so it could be that it uses two different ways of getting the screendumps, something related to that?

I think its more related to the phone itself, as clockwork is upside down as well.

I agree. I've only just got used to turning my phone upside down when I'm in recovery!

I had the same problem (upsidedown screens) with the MCRi r4 Eclair ROM so it's not a Froyo issue.

I also couldn't get the double-press-home to launch Itching Thumb, but it worked after I restarted the phone.

The app looked very slick, but after having it installed for a couple of days I didn't really use it so I've uninstalled it now. all that eye candy has to have a detrimental effect on performance, right?
