Samsung phone name confusion!! What?!?!?

hi all!

Why is the Samsung captivate also called the Galaxy S? thats just confusing as there is a galaxy S!

Captivate website -

It says Galaxy S in the page title!

So there are two phones that look different so i assume are different -

Samsung captivate glalaxy S

AND

a Samsung Galaxy S!!

But some sites say - Samsung Galaxy S / Vibrant / Captivate / Fascinate

That right??
