Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a stock Desire Froyo 2.2 rom? Also I'm not sure i fullt understand what the radio part is and if i require one? Can anyone provide a link that explains (in idiots terms) what the radio is, how it relates to rom/kernel or whatever, and where to get the correct one!!

I have a rooted (unrevoked) Desire and just want 2.2 for the 720p and itunes sync stuff so no real nead for a custom rom.

Sorry for all the Q's but i am just getting bogged down reading the forums and my head is starting to spin lol

So why you don´t flash modacos (pauls) or my rom...its stock with some extras but not "What you see things-(Visual)"

if you really want a stock 2.2 Rom...flash a ota update but your root is lost...find roms here

http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category...amp;model=Bravo

and flash the RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.10.405.2_R_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142

Check out xda -- android development section for all that's available for the desire. There is one of the pinned docs which lists down all the roms and radios available for desire in one single page. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328

For stock desire froyo 2.2, look no further than defrost -- stable, good battery life, 720p, 2.2, fm radio. for radio info, check the desire page.

I'm sending you to xda from this forum because that one page is the only page i know in any of the forums which lists everything desire in one single page. If you're new, that'd be the place for you to check for the latest info first.

Basically because as far as i can see there are no 2.2 MCR roms available without paying and I'm tight. Are you saying that an r9 prebaked is available? I cant see one if it is.

Also what is your rom? I'm afraid i dont know who you are :P

If i loose my root then a stock rom is obvioulsy not what i want after all :D

Thanks for that :-) Must learn to read the r9 thread properly before posting :-) i had assumed as it was WIP it would be kitchen only :P

So assuming i flash the MCR r9 rom will it update the radio to the required version or di i have to do that manually??

Thanks again

I don't think they have the radio but after flashing you can just do it yourself if it's not there

And herein lies the basis of my original question lol. How the hell do I know which version I require? I have got my desire on O2 in the UK if it makes any difference.

So, how do I know which radio goes with which rom and where to find said radio!!

Hard work aren't I lol

I'm on O2/UK and have flashed a variety of radios in conjunction with a variety of Paul's R6 to R9 Modaco releases and not really noticed much difference between any of the radios.

I'm currently on 32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23 which came with one of the earlier bakes of R9 that i'm running.

I'd just go with the radio included in the R9 bake and take it from there.... if you want to try others, you can easily flash these independently of the ROM build at a later date.

OK well when i get home i shall be downloading the R9 bake and giving it a whirl!!

I have installed Rom Manager so i will use that to perform a backup first and to put an ext3 partition on my SD card. Then i guess i just point Rom Manager at the downloaded ROM and cross my fingers lol

Thanks for the help chaps :)
