Six Step to update direct Dell Streak

so after 10 hours i find the way to update every direct dell with 1.6 android EU.

lets go!!!

1st download all apps from this post.

2.in the folder streakflashbyomniacs.net you will find application QDLTool.exe

run application,close dell push volume up button and connect phone to your pc,after that you have notification error driver,open device manager and you will see Qualcomm entry,need to update this,so right clik and update driver>Browse computer for driver, Let me pick from a list, Have Disk,browse in folder streakflashbyomniacs.net>\Driver\Driver_2.067\Win and install the driver,in left window you will see Qualcomm Incorporated,need to check,in right window now you will see Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002,need to check it.after thas you will see a warning message,dont worry,procced to installation driver.

run again QDLTool.exe and push button RUN,after that the program update dell baseband.

3.now need to fastboot your dell.

fastboot dell=Camera Button+ Power Button

after that you will see white screen with fastboot,push fastboot and wait for 10 seconds(this is very important every time need fastboot).

in folder adb move 3 img from folder images_by_omniacs_net,after that open cmd window and write

a)fastboot -i 0x413c flash boot boot.img

wait finish this write img

b)fastboot -i 0x413c flash system system.img

wait again finish this write img

c)fastboot -i 0x413c flash userdata userdata.img

wait again!!!!

d)fastboot reboot and push 2 volumes buttons,after that dell open to recovery mode,do a factory reset.

thats it now we have dell with beta r1 2.2 Streak build,but we dont finished yet.

4.need to go android 2.1 O2 version now,so insert file othertools_by_omniacs_net > update-8105-21.pkg in sd and rename to update.pkg

go again dell to fastboot and run othertools_by_omniacs_net>r1-6941-streak-recovery>install-recovery-windows.bat

now out battery from dell,insert battery again and go again to bootloader mode

(2 volumes buttons + power)

in bootloader menu go to Apply update.pkg and push camer button.

after that we have dell with 2.1 O2 version,dont worry we have 2 steps and wow!!!!

5.download custom rom such this

insert zip rom to your sd card.

reboot dell again to fast boot

(power button+camera button)

connect dell with pc and run

othertools_by_omniacs_net>2.5.0.1-streak-clockworkrecovery>install-recovery-windows.bat

WARNING AFTER THAT DONT OPEN YOUR DELL BECAUSE FREEZE TO DELL LOGO

6.out battery and instert again to dell,open dell to recovery mode via 2 volumes buttons+power button,go to apply update.pkg and you will see ClockworkMod menu,go to update menu and find rom zip.after finished update go again to recovery mode and perform a factory data reset.

THATS IT,AFTER REBOOT YOU DELL YOU HAVE 2.2 ROM

AFTER REBOOT YOU CAN INSTALL EVERY ROM!!!!!!!!!!!

In my experience i managed to update a direct Dell Streak (00) just by flashing stock recovery (4399 if i recall correctly)>02 2.1 8105 via fastboot> Koush Recovery> Steve's 2.2 ; don't understand why you should need step 2 and involve flashing eng baseband via the QCM tool...

they will cause you more aggro than its worth..

use and stick with the existing guides!

You don't need the QDLtool for a start, the baseband would be overwritten by the 2.1 update anyway...

all this information is available in the stickies and the main Froyo thread already.

I agree - we already have this covered in guides that involve less complex steps and tools, as the experts here have pointed out. I really hope some poor newbie doesn't follow this guide. This thread should probably be deleted.

actually, the 2.1 o2 update wont overwrite your baseband because the 1.2 froyo build baseband is newer. you would need to flash the downgrade 2.1 amss from steve. what he did was install the baseband of a development build so it can be written over by the 2.1 o2 update. hope this clears it up a bit. sure there are easier ways, but this works just fine.
