data connection

Hi all,

This is my first post so go easy. I recently routed my phone and stuck a custom rom on (thanks modaco).

This is my first smart phone so i am a little unsure on the way things are suppose to work. Everything on my phone works fine except the power control widget. I have to go to data connection and turn it on to go on the internet using 3g. I can't just use the power control. However i can turn on wifi from there. So am i suppose to leave the data connection on at all times if i am outside a wifi zone?

there is an option in settings, wireless and networks,mobile network,data connections

or if you want to make things easy there is always apn droid from the market. used to use that on G1 when i used to go on holidays before CM6 integrated a data widget on their power widget

Thanks very much, apn droid worked a treat. Much better than having to go through the menus to turn on data connection!
