[SOLVED] GPS Not working (r9 WIP)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi All

I got my phone today from repairing. It came with 2.2 and HBOOT 0.92.

I've managed to root it using unrevoked 3. Installed a new recovery but maintained the HBOOT.

Now, the problem. Flashed a cooked WIP r9 modaco and have tried it with 3 different radio versions (the 3 newest)

This is the only log i got, when using GPS Test / GPS Status.

V/libgps ( 218): DeferredActionThread pthread_cond_wait returned

I forgot the number of wipe's and flashes :) .. Tried also with other roms. Strange.

I'm thinking that it is a hardware problem.

Could the HBOOT be the problem ?

Thanks alex. Will try to downgrade the HBOOT to see if something happens .

Ok.

Installed a stock RUU => Same Problem, no GPS.

Downgraded HBOOT => Same Problem, no GPS.

Custom rom with downgraded HBOOT (0.83) => Same Problem, NO GPS FIX

Sent the wife's phone back for repair the other month (new system board to cure the overheating reboot problem). When we got it back, the GPS didn't work in any app I tried. Had to send it off again to get it fixed.

Back now and fully working. No explanation, but I read elsewhere about someone having the same issue. They were told that the GPS antenna had not been reconnected the first time it was returned. I guess I (and maybe you) have suffered the same problem. So much for quality control :)

That was my first thought.

I received it today, after 3 weeks. DAMM.

I've searched for pictures about opening htc desire (didn't found) .

If it's easy, I'll do it myself, otherwise, 3 more week just to connect a wire. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

GOT IT !

Removed with carefully the VOID sticks and opened the phone.

And, IMAGINE, those bastards forgot to connect the gps module to the antenna, the cable was disconnected.

Acquiring GPS right now, FINALLY.

Mental Note: Next time repair yourself the phone :)
