Guest Anb8 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 So I have Orange SF with MoDaCo Custom ROM r3 and have Launcher Pro Plus running on it. Pretty often (once to twice per day depending on use) it stops responding and has to be force quit. This mostly happens when sliding between home screens, updating Friends Feed widget etc. Anyone with similar experience?
Guest JolyonS Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Yes, I've mostly used it with the same ROM and have had several force closes doing those sort of things. It's a shame as I really like it.
Guest El Nino9 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 i use subastians de orangised rom but i removed the launcher from the system and launcher pro there and resigned the zip file. i have no issues. friendstream works well too

What about the performance? Is it slower or faster? Any idea what's wrong with R3 or how to finch Launcher Pro there?
Guest Stooby Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 I'm using Launcher Pro Plus on Paul's MCR4 ROM, and I have had no problems with it. It works nice and smooth including the Friends Feed.
Guest JolyonS Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Right, have switched to the latest de-orangised ROM and will see if I get any further Launcher Pro problems.
Guest Anb8 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Right, have switched to the latest de-orangised ROM and will see if I get any further Launcher Pro problems. And I'll switch to MCR r4 today and will put here my observations later.
Guest Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 I'm running Launcher Pro Plus on gforums Froyo ROM and so far I had no issues regarding LP force closing or lagging. Overall the jump from 2.1 to 2.2 gives the San Fransisco a great performance boost and with Launcher Pro and some widgets it's almost as fun as using my Nexus One.
Guest Anb8 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 I updated to MCR r4 and Launcher Pro still keeps hanging occasionally. Also - I thought that updating from r3 to r4 will erase the whole phone and I will have reinstall and reconfigure every app again, however, the phone booted, shows r4 installed and everything was configured as before the update. Is this correct? Shouldn't the phone be without any data after flash?
Guest retrend Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 ive had it crash a few times on me.
Guest plob Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 ive had it crash a few times on me. had launcher pro constantly crashing on r3 and r4 rom, am now using the 2.2 rom thats out and so far has been flawless for about 3 days now.
Guest retrend Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 nice, is the 2.2 rom not buggy itself though?

As long as you don't wipe your phone through clockwork-recovery before flashing any ROM your previous data and settings will stay on the phone. It will just be updated with what comes from the new ROM package. However this mainly works between ROMs from the same developer, but seldom between ROMs from different builds or developers. A clean install (full wipe) is always recommended to avoid issues, but not essential as in your case nice, is the 2.2 rom not buggy itself though? gforums 2.2 ROM is till in a very early stage, but fore me it's already suitable for daily use. For me it it is stable and very responsive, making the device fun to use.
Guest JolyonS Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Right, have switched to the latest de-orangised ROM and will see if I get any further Launcher Pro problems. Well, just had my first force close on Launcher Pro since switching ROMs I did root this build for the first time today - no idea if that's related, don't seee why it should be, but that's the only thing that's changed. FC happened when I went to scroll home screens, phone is on USB power.
