(Froyo) Google maps 4.6 update fixes my GPS and Compass

After installing the update my gps now locates me accurately and the compass works as it should within google maps

Before updating, the compass was crazy for me jumping around all over the place in Google maps street view

The GPS was locating me just outside Skipton (instead of Exeter!) now it locates me fairly accurately I have noticed it jumping around a little, but only a couple of streets or so.

I don't think I updated anything else, just the above 4.6 update

I'm still playing with the froyo rom but using MCR4 for daily use.

Interestingly, when using froyo, the older version of Google Maps placed me just outside Skipton as well (I'm in York so it's closer than it is for you!).

I guess there must be a lot of us SF owners just outside Skipton then :)

Next time I flash froyo (maybe tonight), I'll try updating Google Maps and see if it improves things for me.
