Guest dadashi Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Hi I want to format my 8GB card for apps2sd... I've used partition wizard to format the first partition FAT32 primary active and the second 512MB EXT2 primary... Copied my files to the FAT32 and stuck into the SF... then I get a message: "Damaged SD card" You may have to reformat it.. So I've tried making the EXT2 active, I've reformated and the made an EXT2 afterwards but to no avail.....The SF always says card is damaged.. Windows reads the card from card reader or from the SF with usb, ext2 partition is also visible in partition manager... When I remove the ext2 partition then it recognizes the sd card and works fine!! I'm using sebastians R4 ROM...Does his R5 have apps2sd already on it? Edited October 29, 2010 by dadashi

That's very likely because you swapped the EXT and FAT partition on your SD card. The EXT partition must be the second one I think. Best regards, BB

You need to look for an SD card formatter such as http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/ I did much the same and rescued my card with this method.
Guest dadashi Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Thanks guys, I managed to partition and format my card using the sd card formater above. Copied all my files and no more problems with mounting by SF.. Now I just need to look for some help on how to use ADD2SD :) I've installed the newest dtapps2sd-2.7.5.2-signed.zip using clockwork I haven't got a clue what to do next :) I haven't found any new app2sd application or menu in the SF settings.... Guest dadashi Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 sounds interesting.... if it solves apps2sd that would be great. another newbie question, can I install the villainrom modaco R4 without erasing my current system? Do I have to install all the apps all over again?

Do I have to install all the apps all over again? If it's Paul's R4 then it does not need wiping to install, thus you will keep your apps (this info is in the R4 thread)
Guest dadashi Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) I've got apps2sd working finaly, using Pauls R4 from above. :) I've made an 512MB EXT2 and apps2sd has already put 100MB on it and my phones free memory has increased from 20MB to 100MB :) How does it do this on its own? Can I choose which apps to put on the sd? How? If I remove apps2sd or install another rom or froyo, what happens to the apps on the sd card? Edited October 29, 2010 by dadashi
