Hi,

Im trying to install PdaNet 2.45 on my computer and phone. I have downloaded the PdaNet app on my phone but when I try to install the software on my computer, the installation becomes stuck on "Installing PdaNet to your phone..."

I have set usb debugging on and android drivers on my computer are working fine.

I know there are options to flash the rom or use barnacle wifi but i dont wish to do this yet. It would be great if I could get pdanet working as it doesnt require me to flash the rom.

Barnacle doesn't require flashing.

Just download root from the market and then install barnacle.

Works like a charm :)

Thanks flash. I think I used the wrong terminology though. Im a bit nervous about rooting my phone. I just got it a few days ago and worried in case anything goes wrong as it would void my warranty.

I looked at the video for rooting and looks simple enough. However, having gone through the forum, I see some people are having issues with rooting when using win7 64bit, which I am using now.

Is there anyone that has tried pdanet on the sf? Are there other forums that you can recommend which could help me with pdanet? If I find that pdanet wont work with sf at all I will have to go down the rooting route as a last resort.

Just flash your phone with the android 2.2 froyo rom. It's easy. No-one has bricked their phone doing this. It comes with built-in tethering and will make your phone faster, more stable and more functional. That's what this forum is all about.
