Hey all, first timer here... seems like a very helpful and well informed community! I'm having the same issue - for some reason GTalk has been removed/blocked from the San Francisco for reasons I do not comprehend... I tried the method suggested via the link but when I tried to open the file it said it could not parse the file... any help would be much suggested.. also curious about what "rooting" the phone means, the benefits of doing so, and how to do it. Thanks all! Joe

Guest joebrilliant Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 It was removed because orange didn't like the sound of people not paying for texts B) Weird, I tried to use Astro File Manager but it just ended up browsing through the components of the zip instead of prompting me to install or extract... did I miss something. Thanks xeyaztian And yeah Azurren I agree that's must be what they're thinking, but they make money on data usage anyway and offer access to Skype, so that logic is totally backwards IMO. I mean they're building on a Google platform! How can they think we won't notice or wont care about removing key Google feature? Argh. Anyway, if anyone has any other ideas, I'd be very appreciative Joe
Guest TimJBart Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 thanks for this, crazy that they removed, but the standard orange android OS is fairly bad :D
