Text-to-Speech "hickups"

I have just received my SF and I'm really pleased so far. I'm using the MoDaCo r4 ROM.

Just a little problem with Text-to-Speech when it's set to anything else than "English (UK)". There are high-pitched "beeps" in between words and little hickups, no matter what other language I choose.

Did anyone else experience this? Or have a clue what's going on in my phone? :)

I could try to record the speech with my crappy mic if needed. :)

Same here, in fact the accessibility features of android are rather disappointing.

If you like to fiddle with things try out the froyo alpha, TTS seems pretty good so far (tested with german and uk english)
