Guest darwin82 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Hi, first I have to say, that the SF is an incredible phone. But it isn't a visual highlight! That's why I put the phone to a painter and he painted the cover black metallic for me. After the paint job I assembled the parts together and everything worked well but I had some dust between the display and the glass, so I cleaned it with a microfiber cloth. Afterwards I assembled it again and then the Touchscreen didn't respond. Has anyone an idea why the touchscreen doesn't respond? Greeting from Germany Darwin
Guest jimmy2x2x Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Cant help with the problem, sorry Do you have any pics of the paintjob please? Good Luck finding a fix!
Guest Azurren Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Obvious answer but have you tried stripping it down (As far as you did the other 2 times) and reasembling a third time? I have never.. And would never mess with a touch screen. I don't know anything about them. But with other devices (Consoles, PCs ect.) re-assembling them again can solve it. Even if you just do the exact same thing again
Guest Spooke Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Might be abit stupid but is the touchscreen attached via a ribbon? check if its plugged in??

Guest darwin82 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I just would like to give you some update about my touchscreen. After reassembling the phone several times, i got the touchscreen working in some area, but not everywhere. But now it isn't respondig at all, i probably think, that i will sell the phone as defect on ebay. Or has anyone another idea how i could manage my touchscreen to work. Greetings

Greetings Looks like you screwed up the connection between the touch-sensitive foil and the PCB. Check the cable and its connection. You'll hear and feel a 'click' if the cable is plugged in right (you'll have to push it in pretty tight). Also, if you bend the cable under a certain degree you will destroy it. Best regards, BB
