Guest bpivk Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 hopefully one of you guys can tell me (in possibly the most idiots idiots guide ever) how to root thisDownload unrevoked, install the drivers (you'll find the info under faq on unrevoked page), run unrevoked. It's that easy.

Guest ianst28 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 FAN..BLOODY..TASTIC worked a treat i've baked my rom and it's downloading as i type the desire is backing up through clockworkmod ok so does anyone know if the legend can be done this way ???
Guest trstn Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 When I ran unrevoked on my girls' desire, I got to weird point midway. I had the correct drivers installed, but it wouldn't get passed a certain point in the process, took a while to spot but it seemed I had to install the drivers as part of the rooting process - no idea why but it's happened with Desire's I've rooted since, so if you get stuck and nothing seems to be happening, check your device manager.
Guest bpivk Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 When I ran unrevoked on my girls' desire, I got to weird point midway.I had all kinds of problems rooting my phone. The method that worked for me was rooting on linux. I have used my PC with Win7x64 and Laptop with Win7x32. Thankfully I have a dual boot laptop with linux so I was able to root it.
Guest ianst28 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 right so i managed to get a custom rom on it after doing the back ups and every thing but when its running any custom rom it cant read the sd card when it's on stock then no problems it's an 8gb card and i copied everything over to my laptop then formatted it before doing the rooting any ideas guys ??
Guest bpivk Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I had a similar problem with my card. Make sure that you have no unformatted space on the card. Because my phone didn't even mount the card that had some unformatted space on it. And make sure that you have a FAT32 partition first and ext3 second (ext is for a2sd and a2sd+ if you have them).
