I got I900 screen protector, its not a perfect fit I ended up cutting it up because it was hanging over the screen
Guest blauwal26 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 A pouch, won't scratch the screen and I can just keep the phone in my pocket, I'm not a huge fan of having countless things in an extra bag or on a belt or something
Guest HACKDROID Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 I got I900 screen protector, its not a perfect fit I ended up cutting it up because it was hanging over the screen i ordered some too i hope i dont have to start cutting them! item number i bought from the bay was 270525925529 ,which ones did you buy out of interest? case wise i think im going to down the sock route

Guest siwi Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 no case, just being careful with my stuff =p
Guest Patricia1066 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 I got the otterbox impact silicon case. It is a great fit, stretching to fit the osf. The charger does have access, which is slightly offset and this affected the fit of the usb, so I enlarged it. The corners are reinforced, and the case is slim yet with good grip. Amazon uk for £11.35 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002DBI...ref=oss_product

Guest Patricia1066 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 :) :) It's now an Otter fone!
Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I'm surprised at how many people have sock/pouch cases. I want to protect my phone from accidental drops, especially considering you are turning it landscape regularly. A pouch does not protect it once it's out of the pouch. On this logic you should just have an empty pocket and keep it in that. TPU case and a screen protector means I'm not worried about dropping it or getting knocked in a pub/club. Someone please explain why they have a pouch case rather than a skin type one. Andy

Pros: When carrying phone around, it protects against drops Protects against movement scratches when driving Stops you from leaving it in the same pocket as your keys! Cons: Need to remove from pouch every time you want to use phone (not a problem for me)

Guest Raspa Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) On this logic you should just have an empty pocket and keep it in that. I do. All those cases/pouches look awful, feel awful and make your phone far bulkier than it needs to be - especially the leather ones; modern technology wrapped/bulked up in ye olde-worlde 'fashion'. If anything does ever happen to the casing of the phone then I'll simply buy a replacement shell for it - it'll cost less than most cases and leave my phone unencumbered. :-) Edited November 3, 2010 by Raspa
Guest Bas-Tyra Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I prefer pouch, so it is not too bulky and I can put my SF in my shirt's front pocket. I use HTC Hero's old pouch.. and it fits perfectly :)
Guest Patricia1066 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Pics of my OSF in the Otterbox Impact case (E71) I found it cheaper at Expansys UK £9.49 incl postage. I can access vol up/down through the case, which has indents to help locate them. The power on button still takes me a few attempts to locate, though the rubber, but it operates fine. I cut away at the front speaker opening but this may not be necessary. The sensors are in the base of the phone and still apear to work even though they are covered. I havent cut out at the base speaker which would reduce the protection at the corner, and video volume is fine though a bit boomy. Only time will tell if it actually protects against a fall, but the corners are squidgy, and should have shock absorbency. If people like it maybe Otterbox will make one specifically for the OSF, which is a great phone but needs care in handling. Expansys have some useful notes, with which i concur * All buttons are fully functional through the case * Coring on inside corners of skin adds extra strength and protection * Added bump, drop, and shock protection * Self-adhering clear protective film, cleaning cloth and installation card included * Dimensions (case only): 4.61" x 2.44" x .68" * Weight (case only): .79 oz. * Notes: Case NOT protected against water. Will provide some added protection against bump and shock.
