Random reboot, stuck on flashing Android logo

Hi all,

I have an odd problem with my SF - I've searched the forum and Google for anyone who has remotely had this problem, but no avail yet.

I had noticed yesterday that my battery logo was showing a question mark instead of estimated use. Last night my phone turned off, and when turned on, would get stuck on a flashing Android logo. (It'd do this on average of 3 times before switching off again) I decided that maybe somehow the battery had died, which would have been odd since the phone was hardly used yesterday, so plugged in the charger. Again I get the flashing Android logo. I then decide to leave the phone to charge for 15 minutes before trying again. After that, I get the same thing. After around 10 attempts the phone boots into Android fine, but still had the question mark battery logo. However, since all was seemingly well I left it charged overnight.

Today it seemed fine, until I was in a call and after a couple of minutes the phone turned off and I have the flashing Android logo. Also, it won't go into a recovery mode in this state. This still happens even if I remove the battery and have the charger connected. However after multiple attempts I've decided to turn to you helpful people!

I've checked for dirt on battery contacts.

Also for reference I'm using custom rom r3. I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue? Or maybe knows what would cause a flashing Android logo.

Hope someone can help!

you may be one of those unlucky guys :) if nothing helps you can always ask orange for a replacement....a delivery guy will bring the new phone and you just give the faulty one back to him..quite simple..

Yeah looks like it's going to have to go back to Orange.

No haven't done anything like that. Last thing I had modified was put on r3 a few weeks ago. No way of getting into recovery :-(
