Guest grcd Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Due to being a loyal customer for two different carriers (contracts with Orange and T-Mobile), I was just recently offered free upgrades to both contracts from the two carriers. Orange offered me the HTC Desire and T-Mobile offered me Samsung Galaxy S i9000. Both handsets cost zero to me, and in fact, due to the low monthly charge, I get them for almost next to nothing. I have decided to keep one and sell the other. Which one would you keep and why?
Guest Asselberghs Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I have a rooted HTC Desire with MCR r8 rom. Awsome phone awsome rom:=) But it seems Galaxy S´ technical specs is a bit superior to Desire and it´s a newer release than Desire if my memory serves me right. I can see UnRevoked does not root the Galaxy S, so you can´t use that. Find out if you want to root your device and for instance put costum roms on it. It´s a good idea to have it rooted for instance in case you want to take backup with Titanium Backup or Nandroid backup through Clockwork mod recovery. If this is a criteria go check if Paul has rooted Galaxy S, if so I´d say go with that one. If not and rooting is important to you go with the Desire. It´s a nice good and solid phone but as I said Galaxy S seems to be the better choice, for me, depending on weather or not it has been rooted yet. I hope it helped a bit:=)
