Hello :)

sorry if this has been asked already .

finally went and bought the blade this afternoon , popped the sim in , battery , turned on and great it works . Started getting all the orange texts coming through then i noticed the signal bar , no network !

turned it off and on again , signal and network came back again , few minutes later it was gone again ( not a good first impression is it ) .

Tried the sim in my pixon and its working fine , strong signal , 3G etc . popped it back in the blade and same result , network for about and minute then dead .

The sim seems to be ok , but the phone is not :)

Guy in the shop told me if i have any problems and bring it back within 48 hours they'll do a straight swap ( did he know something i didn’t ? )

Anyone else had this problem at all ?

Put the phone into 2g only mode. If the signal stays constant put it into 3g only mode

(options are in wireless. 2G = GSM only for 3g only you have to set it to WCDMA only)

That will determine whether or not its faulty or just constantly switching modes

already tried that . 2G , 3G , sync on / off etc , constanly losing the network .

If i try to make a call while the network is active it dies as soon as i hit the dial button .

Well i wont be changing the firmware tonight that’s for sure lol :)

just a thought , maybe the sim contacts are not aligning with the card properly ?

The sim is working fine in the pixon .

Take the device back.. Don't try fiddling with it yourself :)

It's quite common to take your first SF back :)

i've had 3g problems for the last few days and nipped into the orange shop to ask about it this afternoon, lad in there said they've got problems affecting about 80% of the network.

could well be , but i don’t wanna get caught out and miss the 48 hour swap , and the sim works ok in my pixon , picking up 3G network too , but as soon as it goes back in the blade it cant find a thing :)

I had a similar problem, I got the phone exchanged and unlocked it. It's working fine so far.

I told the sales guy that I suspected the antenna was faulty.

48 hr swap?

They'll only swap phones for 48 hours?

Thats rubbish I think, I've got one I bought 8 days ago that I've only just worked out the ohone has a fault

I get people calling the house phone asking why the mobile is off, but its on with a good signal, so in the end I called myself with another phone to test and the call only went through 3 times out of 5

I thought it was a network fault at first as I'm using a new sim/network with the Orange and never used it before, I thought they might have a routing problem as it was ported from another network.

But its definately an intermittant fault on the phone where the network thinks its offline, even though it has a good signal

I cant call them and moan as I bought it in an Orange shop and it says online if you bought it in one of their shops it has to go back to them

well as normally happens , the phone's been working great today :)

called into the shop anyway and before i opened my mouth the guy said " i suppose you cant get a network either " lol

He admitted their having lots of problems with the network at the minute , and said the 3G network almost died last night .

So fingers crossed thats the last time i'll have to call there again :)
