Guest shocked_pants Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Greetings all :) I downloaded and installed MyPedometer a month or so ago, found it was pretty useless and uninstalled it, however it still shows in Market as trying to download an update - when you go to Market/Downloads you can see MyPedometer sat at the top with Downloading underneath the grey bar, and it will sit there doing this for as long as it likes. Tapping on it, then tapping on Cancel Download crashes Market with the error message "The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly" and the only option I have is to Force Close, which reboots Market and I'm back where I was before. I've had the same issue with Google Maps, but I put that down to the Maps version in r9 and was able to deselect some option in the kitchen so that Maps never reappeared. My Desire is rooted, and when I wipe using recovery the problem goes away until I reload through either Titanium or Nandroid, as both obviously contain a backup of whatever problem there is. So my question is this: is there a way of not restoring the relevant bit in Market through Titanium, or is there some other way I can manually remove MyPedometer from Market? Thanks :)
Guest Tebo2K Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Try going into titaniumbackup, find MyPedometer in the list of apps, long press on it and you will get an option to detach from Market. You should then uninstall the app before deleting the backed up file in Titanium Market. If the app is uninstalled but still showing in the market, go into Settings -- Applications -- Market and clear cache. Reboot and try again :-) HTH Iain
Guest TheUntouchable Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) If the method above doestn work, just open your market, choose the download tap and do a long push on the app, choose here stop downloading. Had the same problem that the marked crashed if you first click on the app and then choose stop download. Edited November 2, 2010 by TheUntouchable
Guest shocked_pants Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Thanks to you both for your replies - the first method didn't work (as it had been previously uninstalled and the backup already deleted, titanium couldn't see the app to disconnect) and I decided after that to simply wipe the phone and start it from scratch. Having had the phone for 3 months I've done so much fiddling learning the best way to do everything and set the phone up how I like, that it's also packed full of backed up mistakes, so I opted to begin again once I'd noted all my apps etc on a piece of paper lol!!
Guest TheUntouchable Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 There is an app which prints all your installed apps in a txt file, but i think its to late to mention that xD
Guest bpivk Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 There is an app which prints all your installed apps in a txt file, but i think its to late to mention that xD It's never too late because I'm looking for something like that. My phone detects a 100 apps so listing them all will be a pain in the arse. I would greatly appreciate all apps that will make my life simpler. :)
Guest TheUntouchable Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Okey, here it is :) http://www.androidpit.de/de/android/market...pplist/App-List
Guest bpivk Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks. That will save me a lot of time.
Guest Carbonize Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I had this problem a few days ago with an app being stuck as installing. Nothing would remove it. In the end I fixed it by going in to settings then applications. I opened up Market, cleared it's cache and then uninstalled the update and that fixed it. Had to agree to the ToS again next time I ran market but a small price to pay.
