R9 and camera quality issues

Hi all

I've seen a few other posts around this issue, but nothing about a cure yet. I recently upgraded to R9 (own bake), installed after a full wipe and everything works fine except the camera. The pictures mostly come out with a colour issue across the bottom half. Oddly enough they look fine in the gallary preview, but once enlarged the flaw is very evident. Example attached below.

I have tried the last four radios to see if there is any effect there, but not change. This all worked fine on R8. The only mod I have installed is the R8RC1 smooth battery with coloured icons. I also have baked in custom governors and undervolt. Other than that it's the same basic componets as my R8 bake.

Any ideas? I even cleaned up my SD card which was running low on space, but also no effect.

Thanks

+1, same issue. about 1-2 pictures from about 10-15 pictures are crap as shown above.

i just used the custom governors (mods by Sub501) and the smooth theme

+1 on this problem

same here.

I thought it was the light from the flash hitting against the lens but i get it without using the flash.

I also thought it might be the lens itself but it doesn't explain why it looks totally fine during the preview

and the tiles in the gallery but is discoloured when you view it.

it's a common issue among desire-users

Ok, bit more info. This does not appear to affect the video camera. I also installed Retro Camera from the market and get similar results so it would not appear to be a application issue, more likely underlying subsystem. Almost looks like some kind of sync problem.

Just to confirm, this did not happen with R8 at all.

What setups do you guys have? I have a version of R9 that I installed after a wipe, with RichardTrip's latest UVOC kernel (restored my apps with Titanium Backup). I have tried taking photos in both low and high light conditions and can't replicate this issue.

i always use the kernels which ones comes with the mcr roms. in mcr r8 i had no issues with the camera, but in r9 i have it.

I haven't yet used R9 with the default kernel, but as it uses the same HTC kernel as default i'd be very surprised if that is what is causing the issue.

I'm using R9 with default kernel, no such problem at all.

No custom governer or undervolt
