Guest seekr Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I don't know why but I can't listen to any of the new podcasts I download since Sunday. When I press play it just waits for a few seconds then returns to Pause or goes to next clip on the list. Some of the old episodes were playable but not new ones. That happen after I downloaded the latest This Week in Tech via Acast. I actually started using Listen when I first got my first Android but has since changed to Acast because of a similar issue. I looks like files are fbeing corrupted... Does anyone have any clue about this? cheers
Guest catterick Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I've been having exactly the same problem. I had been using Google Listen on my HTC Hero, but on the San Fran it just doesn't want to play any podcasts. Downloading is fine, but when I hit play nothing happens. The only software that seems to work 'ok' (still some issues) is .PodKast. beta which you can find on the market. If anyone can shed some light that'd be great, as I'd like to go back to Listen if possible!
Guest UncleFista Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 After trying 4-5 different podcast apps I settled on "Beyond podcast" i even shelled out for the full version (nearly a fiver !) it's been flawless.
Guest sipart Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 +1 for Beyondpod - I'm a bit of a podcast addict and used to use RssPlayer on my 1st gen ipod touch and Beyondpod is the only one that is fully featured and an excellent podcast downloader and player. I don't have any problems downloading and playing any podcasts - none of you above have gone to alpha of Froyo? Froyo seems to have some issues with some mp3's.
Guest hero protagonist Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 mp3 support ist borked in the current froyo alpha. Wait for a AOSP froyo rom or revert back to 2.1 to regain full podcast functionality

Guest donkey523 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I've been using mp32ogg on ubuntu to convert my mp3 podcasts so I can listen to them on froyo
