Guest bioert Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I have a nexus and i want to change it ... what do you recommend me? galaxy s or hd2? I have a Nexus too. I try the Galaxy S I897 (Captive), it have better resolution and the screen is better. But i'm not fully convinced with it. Nexus One still have more customization than any other android phone. I haven't test the HD2. So maybe you can be more specific of what you need, like memory, tethering, modifications or just how it looks.
Guest resin99 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I have a nexus and i want to change it ... what do you recommend me? galaxy s or hd2? Galaxy S over HD2 for the simple fact that it is made to run Android. The HD2 hardware is great but windows mobile is not. Though there are rumors it may run WP7, if you're interested in that. What about the new mytouch 4g?

The Galaxy S or Vibrant as it's call for T-Mobile is a much better phone than the HD2. As an employee for T-Mobile, the HD2 has got to be the worst phone on the market. It (the HD2) has a laundry list of problems from freeze ups to lock outs (even when you're entering the correct password). It's a beautiful phone to look at but I wouldn't take the HD2 if it was given to me for free!

In case you didn't read, I work for T-Mobile customer care. On a daily basis, I get troubleshooting calls from customers who own an HD2 the majority have an issue w/ the phone. Admittedly, some of the customers purchased the phone simply because it looked cool and don't know how to handle such a phone but many of my customers are well versed w/ technology. The inability to bypass the phone lock feature despite using the correct password is a known issue that has been identified. Text messages going to the incorrect contact even though the recipient is clearly indicated in the "To" field of a text message is a known issue. Severe freezing and crashing even though no programs are running in the Task Manager, the browser cache, history and cookies have been deleted and there isn't a build up of saved mms/sms. The phone also has a propensity to get stuck on the recovery screen (red, blue and yellow) upon power cycling. Some of my most frustrating calls occur when I talk to a customer that owns an HD2 because they didn't realize they've have such troubles right out of the box. This has nothing to do w/ whether I'm partial to WinMo or Android. Like any consumer, I want a phone that actually works. The HD2 is a decent phone but I'd never own one. T-Mobile Customer Care is the first line in troubleshooting the many problems w/ any phone and if you could ask for an honest opinion from any of us about the HD2, many of my peers would mimic my sentiments about the phone. For every 2 customers that rave about the phone, I get cussed out by at least 8 who totally regret making the decision to get one.
