Guest numyg Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Hi, Firstly thanks for taking a look at my post :) Well my problem is i have A2SD fully installed on my phone, with the SD card partitioned properly but my apps are not installing to the sd card. I am using Pauls r4 custome rom with A2SD included. The partition comes up on Quick system info and there is also a system/sd/ folder. Now to what i have figured out, my apps dont seem to be getting installed onto the sd card as there is no system/sd/data/apps/ folder. Iv searched everywhere and not been able to get anywhere. I tried to mount the data/app/ folder to system/sd/ but adb isnt working for me, it just isnt picking up my device. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have been trying for days to get A2SD to work. Thanks once again :)
Guest Teh H4rRy Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Have you tried checking the before and afters of memory remaining in Quick Sys Info? And what are you using to view the contents of the EXT2 partition on the SD card?
Guest numyg Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Yes i checked and it showed the same. I was using astro file manager to see the system/sd/ folders contents.
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) The best way to check would be to boot off a linux distro cd like ubuntu on your pc, connect the phone and browse the contents of the ext2 partition of the sd card, if all the apk apps are there then it obviously means its working Edited November 2, 2010 by Richard_Arkless
Guest numyg Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 And what happens if it doesnt work? How would i be able to get adb to work with my phone? Because i think the problem is that i need to mount the the data/apps/ folder to the ext2 partition.

I would suggest as Richard_Arkless and use a linux distro, you wont need any drivers and it should see the SD card (and partitions) via the phone or a card reader. From what I remember of Paul's R4 implementation of A2SD you just need to make sure that the partitions are in place and A2SD should work.
Guest Teh H4rRy Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) If you load up a Linux Distro onto your computer (Download the ISO http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download and put it on a disk, you can load it up without making any changes to your computer) And once it is all loaded you can see and access the EXT2 Partition on the SD card when you connect and mount your phone's SD card. It'll look like this: And on my phone using Quick Sys Info this is what it says about A2SD: So if you're having these problems then I can only think that you haven't formatted your SD card correctly. Guest tom619 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Pleaaaaaaase! Someone help! Im trying not to open a new thread and i have searched there is no help for me!
Guest Acathla- Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 What I would do is: (Apply after every step) 1. Delete all partitions on your card 2. Create one Fat32 partition the full size of your card 3. Resize the Fat32 partition to give yourself some empty space 4. Create an ext2 partition for the rest of the space No idea what class the stock card is. For apps2sd without too much slowdown it's recommended a Class 4 or above.
