Facebook Sync - can't seem to add the account

Facebook for Android is installed and I've just tried to 'add account' for Facebook to the sync settings, it just returns to the 'add account' screen without adding Facebook. Any ideas folks?

How about the people using flashed ROM's, are you able to add Facebook to your sync accounts?

I'm using r4 and I've got this problem

I believe it's something to do with the Facebook app and the way it's coded. There is something in it that will only let you add an account on the devices it has specifically been coded for. Not really great.

There was a workaround for Cyanogen to 'spoof' the G1 and MT3G as another device to get it to work.

same here on stock rom, if its contact pictures youre looking for you could download an app called "syncmypix" that will do the job, and by adding a facebook phonebook folder on your desktop you get most of the same functionality

Updated Facebook app on market today and it *still* doesn't let me add a sync account - grrrr...

The facebook app works OK I just can't see updates or use details from facebook in my contacts

i added my gmail(the one in the synq list on phone) as my primary email on facefook and i get some updates but not ideal could do with a fix if any cleverer people than me know a work round
