Guest robot1000 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Last night I thought I had powered off my device by clicking 'power off', but got worken up in the early hours of the morning (by a notification) as I had forgotten to confirm the Power Off I just wanted to know whether there's an app out there that can made a beeping noise when the Power off button has been selected in order for it to remind users that the phone is waiting for the confirmation

Guest Acathla- Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 You could use something like Bedside to put your phone in quiet mode at certain times. I don't know of an app that will 'beep' when you open the Phone Options menu (long press on power button).

Found an app called FOXYRING: SMART RINGTONE which silences the phone during the night, which would help in those situations like the one in the OP
Guest john306 Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) I thought I turned it off like you did a few nights back, luckily I never heard the notification. I always double check it now. Edited November 4, 2010 by john306
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) I look at this the other way round. I'd like the phone to show me that its actually alive but asleep (and not off, perhaps due to the battery running out). Thus by the lack of 'breathing', the op could tell that it was properly off. As the op notes, the phone looks the same when its dead as it does when its asleep. Nokia (and Apple? and ... ?) manage to give a 'breathing' led to show that the phone is still doing phone stuff, ready to take a call or a text, checking your email, etc. I'd like to know if, for any reason, it isn't! Is this a general Android 'missing feature' or is it specific to the SF? EDIT - emphasis added ! Edited November 4, 2010 by oh!dougal
Guest sikhcentral Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I've got 2.2 flashed and the phone will vibrate just as it turns off, it vibrates quite a lot so you can hear and feel it.
