Guest Just Wondering Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I'm happily running R4 2.1, it's working very well, but id like to try 2.2 alpha, can I install 2.2 and if I find it not to my liking, can I just reinstall 2.1 R4, with no fear of tech issues? Could I have both install files on my sd card and easily install and reinstall as i choose? Or is there likely to be a problem?

Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Is the official ROM manager required or is the clockworkmod recovery enough? In other words is it just taking nandroid backups of each rom and switching between them or is the ROM switcher doing something different? Andy
Guest jsplace Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) On my Hero I don't bother with ROM Switcher and just do a Nandroid before installing anything new. Its important to wipe before you restore though. Also if you have a2sd installed you will need to backup the ext partition on the SD card. Dont know if clockwork can do this? amon-ra can but I don't think there is a version of that for SF yet. Edited November 3, 2010 by jsplace
Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I believe the modaco clockworkmod is also backing up the sd-ext? I have flashed backups but do not normally wipe before, when you wipe is it clearing system or everything (SD included)?
