2 day old San Francisco - completely dead!

This is a replacement handset which has worked fine for 2 days, my wife has barely used the phone today and has just gone to pick up the phone from the table. The phone is completely dead, no warnings nothing. I've plugged in the mains charger and there's no lights, nothing!

Have you tried taking out the battery and leaving it for a few seconds?

Mine did this once. Hardlocked, completely unresponsive to any button. No idea why and thankfully it hasn't done it since (touches wood).

I did take the battery out and it still wouldn't turn on, I rushed to the shop and explained the problem, I was quite annoyed. The lady took out the battery, replaced it and turned on the phone!
