Guest m0o5 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) Welcome chemanika! :) Just to make things a little clearer:You have tried different SIM cards but not one works? The same SIM card does work in another phone? In Settings - Wireless Manager, Phone is on? In Phone settings, you can set your network, can you find any network? Edited November 5, 2010 by m0o5

Guest daskalos Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) UPDATE I just changed ROM to Georgio Armani V3 now the phone does not recognizes my network and i checked and the imei is 000000000000000000 Hmmm let's analyze your problem Please answer the following questions first... 1. What is the PDA:, CSC:, PHONE:, version of your device,BEFORE, you flashed a custom ROM 2. After flashing, what is now your PDA:, CSC:, PHONE: versions? Did you flashed anything apart from .nb0? 3. You mentioned your SIM Card worked with other phones...What phone is that? 4. Where Country are you residing right now and what's the name of your carrier (Network Provider) 5. Did you bought your unit brand new? Are all thing working fine out of the box or is your problem existed out of the box About call dropping and your phone doesn't recognize a network, maybe it's related to the Band settings of your phone.I thought of it is because you mentioned that your SIM works fine with another phone. I suspect that the "another phone" is a simple Dual/Triband GSM phone... Go to Samsung Settings and go to Band Selection. It's default is Auto, change it to GSM 900/1800 and see if your network would be recognized... Edited November 5, 2010 by daskalos

Originaly the phone when i bought it had the (and im not 100% sure cuz i checked but didnt wrote down) PDA: B7610NXXIK2 CSC: B7610NXENIK2 Phone: B7610NXXIK2 then i changed it to the oficial PDA: B7610NXXJC2 CSC: B7610NXENJC2 Phone: B7610NXXJC1 Then i applied the Giorgio Armani V3 ROM By Daskalos an stayed with the same PDA CSC Phone just to make clear ever since i bouht the phone never worked never received or made calls thats why i decided to changed the ROM The phone i had and worked fine was the Motorola L6 a plane simple phone worked great at least i made and received calls I live in Managua(City) Nicaragua (Country) and my Network is Claro (network provider) Ithought the phone was brand new but when i charged it i noticed the regular 24 hour first charge wasnt necesary and when i turned on the phone it had one text mesage, the phone worked i mean all the apps and everithing except for the Wifi but i dont care about that, but i was never able to make/recibe calls. I noticed everityme after i flashed the phone a message appear saying something like this "preconfiguration: In order to configuration to wrok the phone must restar" and the phone automaticly restarted, also when i turn on the phone function or just regulary turn on the phone a message appears that says "SMS Sending" it pops up like 3 or 4 times then never does it again. thanks for at least paying attention to my problem i hope thogether we will find a solution Forgot to mention i never checked the IMEI until know and my current IMEI is 00000000000 i do not know what the original IMEI is or if it allready was sold to me like that
Guest sakisds Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Some operators block phones with 00000000000 as IMEI. That might be your problem. Maybe you bought a faulty device(to have such imei in first place).

Thats what i think its the problem i think i got ripped off...... is there a way to get arround that? do you think talking to my operator could work?
Guest sakisds Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Thats what i think its the problem i think i got ripped off...... is there a way to get arround that? do you think talking to my operator could work? I am pretty sure they will tell you to send the phone for repairs and samsung will tell you they need to replace the board and charge you for that. Also the 'Restarting to finish configuration' is normal. I don't know if you can change IMEI by yourself, maybe a dial-code or something? Anyone knows?
Guest chemanika Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 I don't know if you can change IMEI by yourself, maybe a dial-code or something? Anyone knows? Well i know that probably i got ripped because the dude that sold the phone to me is the one responsabile for the 0000000000000 IMEI, but isnt that kinda like... illegal...i mean i do not want to get in trouble... but if you think that that way my phone is gonna work..... i'll go for it
Guest sakisds Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 I searched around and the only thing I could find is everyone telling that changing IMEI is illegal. So I guess you either have to take the phone to samsung or find the guy who sold it to you and get your money back.
